- Are you losing more than 1/4″ of water per day in your pool?
- Have you been using more chemicals lately because you can’t seem to get the water to balance? If you have a leak in the pool, then the pool will be constantly refilling itself to compensate. Thus the fresh water will never allow for an accurate chemical balancing, if you have an automatic filler.
- By performing the bucket test on this site you can determine whether you have a pool leak or not.
Absolutely Not! In fact, it is imperative that the pool is completely full, clean and clear for the leak test to be performed. Utilizing state of the art ultrasonic leak detectors to pin point a leak, our expert divers will also dive into the pool to find structural problems.
Absolutely! We can not perform the leak test unless the water is full, clean and clear. We must be able to visually inspect the shell of the pool.
Quite often, you will never see water from a leak. Unless the leak is located within the equipment, the water will most likely flow right back to the water table.
Under the pressure of 20psi, a 1/16 inch hole, approximately the size of a pin head, will lose nearly 500 gallons every 24 hours. According to local utility providers a 15,000 gallon pool costs approximately $57 per refill. Under this scenario, the above leak could cost an average of $638.40 monthly.
The greenish look of your hair is a result of high levels of dissolved copper in the water. The source of copper could be the treatment chemicals being used, usually copper-based algaecides.
Cloudy water may be the result of a number of factors that include improper pH, a dirty filter, or an elevated calcium level.
Pink algae is a bacteria that is not treatable with algaecides. To effectively treat pink algae you must super-chlorinate your pool including the filter and all pool equipment that may be harboring the bacteria and it may require many treatments.
Stabilizer acts to slow down the evaporation of chlorine from your pool. Adding stabilizer to your pool water will help you maintain the correct level of chlorine and save you money.
A chlorine deficiency and/or lack of circulation will leave your pool green and algae contaminated. Chlorine stabilizer (cyanuric acid) must be used and the filtration must be permitted to run for at least 6 hours per day during winter, and 8 hours per day in summer.
In a chlorine pool, the filter should run a minimum of 6 hours per day to keep the water clean. A salt water system should run at least 8 hours per day. This regime will keep your pool clean and produce an ample amount of chlorine throughout the water.
